My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers #4) by Rachel Vincent

Publication Date: January 1st 2011 by Harlequin Teen
Cover Artist: N/A
Cover Source: Rachel Vincent

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

“If you look very closely, this one has a word ribbon similar to the one on the other US covers, and it reads "Steal" over and over. You should be able to click on the cover for a larger image.
I have to say, I love the colors and the pose, and I like my name positioned at the bottom, because it stands out more. This one's definitely my favorite of the US covers so far. What do you think?” -Rachel

Beautiful.  My favorite since My Soul to Take.  I didn’t love the zoomed in partials of the previous two covers.  And I wonder who the fella is….cause its not necessarily Nash…

Book Description:

YOU WANT MY SOUL AND MY BOYFRIEND?

Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can’t just pretend nothing happened. But “complicated” doesn’t even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.

See, Sabine isn’t just an ordinary girl. She’s a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people’s fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.

And Sabine isn’t above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.

Wake Unto Me by Lisa Cach

Publication Date: March 31st 2011 by Speak
Cover Artist: N/A
Cover Source: THE BOOK BUTTERFLY

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

N/A This just looks super romantic.  And I love his faded hands intertwined behind her back.

Book Description:
A haunted castle, a handsome young man dead for four hundred years, one heck of a scary portrait of a witch, and a treasure hunt -- not to mention a princess for a roommate! -- all await 15 year old American girl Caitlyn Monahan when she earns a scholarship to a French boarding school.

There are secrets behind the stone walls of Chateau de la Fortune, buried for centuries along with the mystery of who killed Raphael, the charming ghost who visits Caitlyn at night. But as Caitlyn unearths the history of the castle, nothing scares her as badly as the secret she learns about herself, and the reason she was chosen to come to the Fortune School.

And nothing breaks her heart as badly as falling in love with a dead guy.

Secrets and Shadows (13 to Life #2) by Shannon Delaney

Publication Date: February 15th 2011 by St. Martin's Griffin
Cover Artist: Ervin Serrano
Cover Source: Confessions of a Bookaholic

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

This cover was a little longer in the development stage and thanks to Ervin Serrano (the designer of 13 to Life's book cover) for really being willing to work with me and get the cover closer to what I was hoping for…I hope you love it! The autumnal colors are perfect for this particular book in the series (Halloween occurs during part of Secrets and Shadows). I love this.  It has an old 50’s feel to it with the couple running on the train tracks.

Never Again (Wizards of Nevermore #1) by Michele Bardsley

Publication Date: March 1st, 2011
Cover Artist: N/A

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

N/A I’m a sucker for dragon tattoos, but the cape is wasted on me.

Book Description:

Lucinda Rackmore never would have been caught dead in a town like Nevermore. Of course, that was before the "great reckoning" drained the family finances and her former lover, ruthless master wizard Bernard Franco, snuffed out Lucy's magical abilities.

But can Lucy really expect protection from the Guardian of Nevermore, her ex-brother-in-law Gray Calhoun? Gray wants nothing to do with her and Lucy can't blame him. Not after her sister sacrificed him to a demon lord. Still, with everyone in town looking to settle a score with the Rackmores and Bernard bent on dragging Lucy back into his clutches, Gray might be her only hope for survival...

Death’s Sweet Embrace (Dark Brethren #2) by Tracy O’hara

Publication Date: February 1st 2011 by Eos
Cover Artist: N/A
Cover Source:

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

N/A Very cool.  I don’t always love the floating heads in the background, but its not bothering me here.  I also like the glass exploding out from the windows.

Book Description:

After thousands of years of secret conflict, humans and parahumans have reached an uneasy truce. But unspeakable evil now threatens to shatter the tenuous peace.

Teenaged shapeshifters are being slaughtered by a twisted, sadistic serial killer who rips their still-beating hearts from their paralyzed bodies. A task force must be formed to halt the madness—a union of avengers including the vampiric Aeternus, Christian Laroque and Antoinette Petrescu, as well as Kitt Jordan and Raven Matokwe, members of enemy Animalian tribes…and forbidden lovers.

A centuries-old blood feud has divided their peoples—pitting wolf against snow leopard in a battle to the death—and if their passion is discovered it will doom them both. But past hostilities must be put aside in light of the scourge that is now upon them. For the killer they seek is but the first sign of a blossoming terror rising up from their long-buried pasts: the all-consuming nightmare of The Dark Brethren

Clarity by Kim Harrington

Publication Date: March 1, 2011
Cover Artist: N/A
Cover Source: Twitter / Kim Harrington

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

“…My main character, Clare, is a petite redhead with startlingly blue eyes and a smattering of freckles across her nose. And the model they chose…is exactly that!…What I love the most, though, are the colored circles of light around the model’s hair…I love the look on the model’s face. Clare is tough, snarky, and defensive at times and the model seemed to capture that perfectly.” - Kim

Really beautiful in an ethereal kind of way. I also love how the seagulls seem to by flying out from her hair.

Book Description:

Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch an object and the visions come to her. It's a gift.

And a curse.

When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case — but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother — who has supernatural gifts of his own — becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

My Fair Succubi (Succubus Diaries #3) by Jill Myles

Publication Date: December 28th 2010 by Pocket Star
Cover Artist: N/A
Cover Source: Jill Myles

Author Comments:

My Thoughts:

“I am thrilled thrilled thrilled with it – it’s my favorite cover yet :) I asked for Zane and wings, and voila! Now you might look at this cover and think, but Zane has black hair! And red eyes! This piece of masculine hotness has dark brown hair! And you can’t tell his eye color! Well, yes, this is true. But the shade of hair color, to me, is such a minor thing. And hey, if you zoomed in, his eyes JUST MIGHT be red. To me, this model looks far, far more like the Zane in my mind than the last cover model (even though he was incredibly hot). Look at that jaw! That sly look on his face. Tell me that’s not totally Zane.” - Jill I may have posted this one before, but either way its worth another look.  His wings looks amazing and I love how he’s holding the halo.

Book Description:

Six months have passed since Jackie Brighton’s New Orleans adventure and she is knee-deep in a university-sponsored archaeology dig in Mexico, finally letting things get back to normal—whatever that is. But with a surprise phone call from fellow succubus Remy, saying she’s lost her magic charm that keeps the evil spirit Joachim at bay—and a surprise visit from the Serim Council and Archangel Gabriel that leaves her and Noah under arrest—Jackie’s life spins out of control. Again.

With a plea bargain offer from the angel Ariel, Jackie doesn’t have many options: she can take the plea and save herself, she can wait to be sex-starved in punishment, or she can escape. Option three it is. But with her freedom comes even more drama, and now Jackie must find a way to stop Remy, save Noah, and trap Joachim once and for all
