We can't express how much we appreciate each and every one of you who visit this site.  As we are in the process of adding a new blogger to the ATUF team (you can still apply HERE), and have some significant design and functionality changes rolling out next month, we thought it was a good opportunity to let you weigh in on what you like, what you don't, and get some general feedback about how we can continue to improve and make ATUF even better.  Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!

Please feel free to answer as many or as few poll questions as you like.

Image634091938845686617

There were 67 votes cast in my latest poll question:

Which comment system that I've tried has been your favorite?

The consensus seems pretty clearly in favor of Bloggers Default comment system, but in case you didn’t get to weigh in, I’m embedding the poll in this post.  Please, please vote for your favorite.  You can click on the picture of each comment system for a bigger view.

I will be permanently adopting the comment system with the most votes by the end of the week.  Thank you!

Vampire Wars: Who's the Best Evil (Yet Hot) Vampire? by Jennifer Godwin (Eonline.com)

James Marsters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alexander Skarsgard, True Blood, Ian Somerhalder, The Vampire Diaries UPN; Steven Lippman/HBO; Andrew Eccles / The CW

"And you’re what, shocked and disappointed? I’m evil." —Spike

Vampire Wars continues! As we explained earlier this week, we've decided that, structurally speaking, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries are all the same show. Girl meets soft-hearted vampire, girl enters bizarre world of the occult, girl gets mixed up in some stuff, girl hooks up with hard-bodied other vampire, wackiness (and bloody good scandal) ensues.

But which of those wicked, supersexy vamps is the best? It's time to decide who's the best evil (yet hot) TV series vampire, and you have to make the nearly impossible choice between James Marsters' bitingly funny Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alex Skarsgård's Viking vampire Eric Northman on True Blood, and Ian Somerhalder's devilish Damon on The Vampire Diaries.

So...who do you love? Tell us in the poll below! –Eonline.com

Head over to eonline.com and vote.  When I voted earlier, Spike only had a 4% lead on Eric.  Go vote!

My new poll question made me wonder, should we ever judge a book by its TV series?  With the debut last week of The Vampire Diaries based on the series by L.J. Smith, and the continued success of True Blood based on the series by Charlaine Harris, this is the perfect time to ask this question.
I have read at least the first book in each of these series and, with the exception of True Blood (wayyyyyyyy too much profanity for me, I couldn't finish the show), seen the first episode of each show.  I have to say definitely not.    The TV series are in each case only loosely based on the books they claim.  The Vampire Diaries is the most recent example.  The book was a catty and trite look into the life of a teenage girl who sets out to compete with another popular girl for the attention of the new hottie in school.  The second half of the book is a flashback to how the aforementioned hottie and his brother got vamped way back when.  Since I clearly thought so little of the book, why did I bother to watch the show?  Because I thought the previews looked much more Twilight than the books.  And so far, the previews proved accurate.  The TV show, while still for a teen audience, is much more thoughtful and will, I suspect appeal to adults as well.
Please chime in with your opinion and take the poll and leave a comment with your thoughts (please let me know if I overlooked a book-to-TV adaptation).
