On September 7, 2010 Sherrilyn Kenyon is releasing her 19th Dark-Hunter book, NO MERCY. Don’t worry if you haven’t read all the previous books in the series. Sherrilyn says, “As with all my series, they have recurring characters and do refer to events in past books, but each one is written with new readers in mind. So if you pick up in the middle of the series or skip around, you won't miss anything.” That means that everyone can enter the giveaway today, courtesy of Get Red PR. All you have to do is tell me what’s your sanctuary?
Many a Kenyon fan has said that that they have found sanctuary in her books throughout the years. Her fans also know about The Sanctuary, the fictional New Orleans bar in the Dark-Hunter world. Avid readers will often say that books provide a great retreat…that the release of a new book from a favorite author can make one’s day…that there’s nothing better than suspending disbelief and allowing oneself to sink into a storyline or a fantasy world. We want to know what’s your sanctuary?
Dark-Hunter series
We are Darkness. We are Shadow.
We are the Rulers of the Night.
We, alone, stand between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. We are the Guardians.
The Soulless Keepers.
Our souls were cast out so that we would not forewarn the Daimons we pursue. By the time they see us coming, it's too late.
The Daimons and Apollites know us. They fear us. We are death to all those who prey upon the humans.
Neither Human, nor Apollite, we exist beyond the realm of the Living, beyond the realm of the Dead.
We are the Dark-Hunters.
And we are eternal.

One copy of NO MERCY by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Live fast, fight hard and if you have to die then take as many of your enemies with you as you can. That is the Amazon credo and it was one Samia lived and died by. Now in contemporary New Orleans, the immortal Amazon warrior is about to learn that there’s a worse evil coming to slaughter mankind than she’s ever faced before.
Shapeshifter Dev Peltier has stood guard at the front of Sanctuary for almost two hundred years and in that time, he’s seen it all. Or so he thought. Now their enemies have discovered a new source of power- one that makes a mockery of anything faced to date.
The war is on and Dev and Sam are guarding ground zero. But in order to win, they will have to break the most cardinal of all rules and pray it doesn’t unravel the universe as we know it.

My ultimate sanctuary is a quiet space out in the woods where I can relax and let my mind wander. My "everyday" sanctuary, much easier to access, is my room, where I can curl up with a book and no distractions other than my kitten.

My head is often my sanctuary where I can get lost in my thoughts. Books are a great place as well - especially a series. I've also found sanctuary in some larger gaming worlds (MMORPGs) where the world is fun to explore and the lore draws you in.

I want to read this so bad! My sanctuary is my bedroom. Right now my husband is making a spare room into a library for me and that will be my sanctuary but until it's finished my room is still my favorite reading and relaxing spot.
ReplyDeleteLadytink_534(at)yahoo(dot)com

While I LOVE reading and Sherrilyn is my favorite - my sanctuary doesn't seem like it would be relaxing, but it gives me that calgon sigh. I love to go to the park or look in our back yard and watch the kids playing together on the swing set (i have 3) and usually my book in hand but that big "sigh" moment is my sanctuary, all is right in the world.
ReplyDeletejennscl@gmail.com
My sanctuary is probably my bedroom. I love just curling up under the covers with a good book. It's the best!

My sanctuary is anywhere I can escape to read, my bed, the hammock, a chair at the pool. Heck, I even take a book to the woods to read while we cut wood in the winter. It's more of a state of mind than a place.
