ReplyDeleteNow that special effects are so good any would be great, if they didn't get cancelled after two weeks. Shows with suprnatural elements don't sem to do well. Tops on my list would be the Kate Daniels series followed by Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series. I think I read though that The Rachel Morgan series was picked up for development too.

Sounds very tentative right now.
Like a few others before me, I'd love to see Kim Harrison's The Hollows brought to the big (or little!) screen. Sure hope it doesn't fall through. (I'm crossing my fingers SO hard!)

ReplyDeleteMost urban fantasy I read already have (or had) an adaptation to the big or small screen, but I think the Mercy Thompson series (by Patricia Briggs) would be good for TV.

ReplyDeleteI like when movies or TV are based on linked short stories, rather than one long book. The structure of short stories seem to flesh out better in the available time. But no linked short stories are popping into my head. Tough finding one that is both clean enough and in small enough chunks.

ReplyDeleteI have to say that SyFi channel and A&E have done some good work in making unusual shows that are really likable. Thank is my caveat for turning a book into a show or series; too often they are skewed in a different direction that to me is not as fun. I would love to see Nancy Holzner's Deadtown series, but again I would love to see it well done and not just sensationalized:) Thank you for the awesome giveaway opportunity.
