So I got a crazy email recently from ABC Family asking me to take part in a promotional event for the TV Show The Nine Lives of Chloe King (based on the book series by Liz Braswell). Great. Sign me up. I’d seen the promos on TV and had been looking forward to the summer premier on June 14th. Then I kept reading.
This is not a typical promotional event. The team at ABC Family has put together a three week game that we can all play together:
According to the Nine Paths Prophecy, "The Mai must seek out and join forces with a wise Circle of Strangers! The Circle will illuminate each Path and find the one, The Uniter". Following the clues I have to solve different puzzles & if I complete 8 of the 9 tasks, I will get to ask an exclusive question to a cast member from The Nine Lives of Chloe King that will be answered in video format on All Things Urban Fantasy! The first task starts with directing me to a special map on the iPad (or MaiPad as they call it), which lead to unlocking the first prize for you guys: A Circle Charm. In the one-hour scripted drama The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Chloe King is looking forward to celebrating her birthday with her friends and single mother, just like every other year…that is until she starts developing heightened abilities and discovers she’s being pursued by a mysterious figure. The Nine Lives of Chloe King will be executive produced by Dan Berendsen (Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hannah Montana: The Movie) and John Ziffren (Melissa & Joey, Make It or Break It) with Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein (Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries) and Gina Girolamo. The drama is based on the book series The Nine Lives of Chloe King by Celia Thomson.
The series will star Skyler Samuels (The Gates) as Chloe King; Amy Pietz (The Office, Caroline in the City) as Meredith King; Grey Damon (True Blood, Friday Night Lights) as Brian; newcomer Grace Phipps as Amy; Benjamin Stone (10 Things I Hate About You) as Alek; Alyssa Diaz (Southland) as Jasmine; and Ki Hong Lee (The Secret Life of The American Teenager) as Paul.
I've been hearing a lot about this show. Can't wait to check it out!

ReplyDeleteAlthough I am happy that the books the show is based on is getting some popularity, I am a bit disappointed at the choice. I read the series already, and it wasn't the best. Just my opinion though..
ReplyDeleteJulie - I haven't read them yet, but I know based on the Vampire Diaries that a lackluster book series can still turn into a great TV show :)
