Kindle Vixen posted the cover for Jocelynn Drake’s Dark Days book 4, Pray for Dawn. And One book Away from Heaven posted the cover for book 5, Wait for Dusk.
I’m not really loving either one, but Wait for Dusk looks like an 80’s romance cover. Does anyone know if Don Sipley is the artist? I know he did the previous covers, but these look like a pretty big departure. I’m wondering if a new cover artist is the reason.

Oh those covers are bad. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteNot loving them...
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those are scary.
ReplyDeleteI am personally holding out hope that these are joke covers or something. I haven't seen Jocelynn announce them on Twitter or her blog, so I'm hoping they're not the real covers...
ReplyDeleteSara - I suppose they could change but they are the ones listed with the Harper Collins catalog for now.
ReplyDeleteI don't love em but I have never been in love with any of the Dark Days covers. I am however totally looking forward the possibility Danaus and Mira knockin boots up against a wall LOL
I am actually wordless
ReplyDeleteOh thank god. I'm not the only one who wonders about these. They do look like a departure. I keep thinking they'll be replaced soon since they don't appear to have anything to do with the previous covers, but if they are in HC's catalog... I'm curious to see what Jocelynn has to say.
ReplyDeleteApparently Jocelynn confirmed the Wait for Dusk cover. Hopefully the PTB will rethink them. I still wonder why they look so different from the previous covers. I'm mean that had to be a conscious decision, right? Is the tone of the series changing and they altered the covers to reflect that? If I get any further details I'll be sure to let you guys know.
ReplyDeleteI asked what people thought over on Facebook and Jocelynn chimed in with this:
ReplyDeleteJocelynn Drake: The shift in the style of the covers is to help with a slight shift series. A slight shift, I stress.
So maybe the relationship between Mira & Danaus becomes more focused. That's the only thing I can think of.
Thanks Jackie. That makes sense. I'm a little unsure about the idea of a 'slight shift.' I guess we'll have to wait and see.
