Don’t think I didn’t notice when I passed the 300 follower mark recently. I remember when I hit 50 followers and thought elated wasn’t a big enough word. Well, 300 followers makes 50 feel like that time I shut my toe in the car door and then had my way-too-fat dog jumped up and down on it.

Oh I want these books, I love Partricia Briggs. I read Cry Wolf and Hunting Grounds and I can't waint for the next book (which will not be coming out this year as expected:(). As for my fav book it's really hard to pick one because I real all different genres but if I have to pick in the adult fantasy genre it would have to be Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon and all The Leauge Series ( Born of Night, Born Of Fire, Born of Ice). I haven't read any of the Mercy Thompson book but have planned to read them soon so this would be perfect. I'm crossing my fingers! Here are my entries:

ReplyDeleteMy least favorite book is Alice Sebold's 'The Lovely Bones'. *Everyone* raved about that hunk of junk, and when I read it I could not believe how bad it was. Great premise, but Sebold is such a boring writer and the ending was absolutely ludicrous - having the dead girl inhabit her friends body so she could have sex? WTF?
Mind you, the Peter Jackson movie looks pretty good.

Hmm...My favorite book is actually a series by Adrian Phoenix - A Rush of Wings, In the Blood, and Beneath the Skin. It has everything a great story should have. Love, angst, an incredibly unique story, and characters you think about long after you've finished reading.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite book of all time is A Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. The film adaptation is pretty good - a lot got changed but the costumes and the scenary is spot on.
I have many favourites , I can't choose between them. Although one of my favourites is Danse Macabre by Laurell K. Hamilton.

My favourite book in the Urban Fantasy genre is Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I love her evocative and real writing style, all her characters are 3D characters with real ticks and flaws, and one cannot remain indifferent to them.

Favorite book? Hard to say because it changes with my mood but one I never tire of is The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Least favorite is The Double Helix about the discovery of the structure of DNA (and proves beyond a doubt that not all great scientists are great authors).

Not sure what my least favorite is...hmm...oh there was this one book I read that I didn't like at all, I think it was called fire and hemlock or something like that.

I can't pick one book (though I remember telling everyone in my family to read the DaVinci Code, but since I have no desire to read it again, it's not the best). I would say it's either Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series or Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson series since I've read both many, many times.

I found the blog and became a follower early on in the contest, but thought I'd link somewhere so waited to post. Now I'm late and we're on the last day and I should post something so I'm entered.
ReplyDeleteI have a tendency to lend out books I like so I no longer have the entire Mercy set -- and I keep meaning to pick up the other, so I'd love either of them.
My favorite books? Gone With the Wind, for many years. Avalon by Robin McKinley. More recently the Mercy books, Kim Harrison's series, Keri Arthur and Carrie Vaughn's.
Least favorite. Grapes of Wrath. I really couldn't get past that turtle crossing the road chapter. There have been others I've hated or couldn't finish, but none I've tried to read quite so many times (or had assigned by school) to force me to remember the names.
