Giveaway: Shade and Shift by Jeri Smith-Ready

Giveaway provided by Simon Pulse via Big Honcho Media

One winner will receive a copy of SHADE and SHIFT by Jeri Smith-Ready

SHADE:

Love ties them together. Death can't tear them apart. Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last. Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone. Well, sort of. Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost. It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding—and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit. As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart?and clues to the secret of the Shift.

SHADE is a character driven ghost story with all the emotional resonance and bittersweet romance to make this impressive YA debut a must read for book lovers of all ages…a heart achingly beautiful story. The supernatural elements are incorporated so fluidly that it was easy to forget that we don't all live in the post Shift world with Aura. - Read my full 4/5 bat review HERE

SHIFT:

Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to. Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past—the mystery of the Shift. As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart.

A beautiful story that is haunting in ways that have nothing to do with the ghosts inside…Not just my favorite Paranormal YA ghost story, it’s my favorite ghost story ever.   As much as I loved SHADE, SHIFT is even better.  The pain cuts deeper, but the pleasure does too.  My heart soared and plummeted right along with Aura and Logan and Zachary.  - Read my full 5/5 bat review HERE

    1. I have never actually read a ghost novel.. I got 'sucked' into the vampire books and that's where I've stayed. But I'm ready to venture out and try new things. I have heard good stuff about these books. Can't wait to read them! Thanks for the Giveaway!

    2. these stories sound like they will put you through the wringer! YA's seem to be more emotionally exhausting than adult. I would love to try this series. Thanks for the chance.

One of my favorite ghost writers is Scott Nicholson. He is usually filed under horror, but they would be better classified as ghost stories.

    3. I haven't read too many ghost books yet. I did read Dead Girls are Easy (Nicki Styx #1) by Terri Garey. It's a ghost book, and I enjoyed it. I read all kind of other paranormal books though, so ghosts should fit right in.

      Thanks for the giveaway!

    4. I read a lot of vampire and werewolf books and while doing so I come across vampire books that also have ghosts in them. Dark Needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole is a good example of this.

Right now I am reading Sex and the Single Vampire by Katie Macalister, which has several ghosts in the story.

    6. These books look amazing. While the genre may not be quite appropriate for young adult and urban fantasy, I must admit that my favorite ghost story of the moment is Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.

    14. While I don't typically read much young adult fare, I've been a big fan of Jeri's adult stories, and I've got to say that with the reviews and storylines of these two books, there is just something so compelling about these storylines. I would love a chance to step outside the box and read something new and unique.
